Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet area situated in The West Island of Montreal is something you could call a "sleepy" location. People unfamiliar with the term often think that it's a separate island somewhere to the west of Montreal but in fact the West Island is home to every aspect of Lachine west to the city of Lachine west. It is often cited as being the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is true, her stay there was not long. Brugel was raised on Courtice located just outside Oshawa located in Ontario. Her initial ambition was to pursue a career as an actress but after a sudden expansion, she and her partner were no longer able to dance along with her. The Toronto Star article revealed she's 6ft 1in tall in heels. Once I outgrew male partners and gave up, I decided to give up. Many dancers make the transition into acting. For Brugel, it was her drama teacher who encouraged her to go in this direction. One of her teachers suggested she audition for an annual school play. The teacher who suggested that she go after a role in the annual school production. She was given the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to go to York University's Theatre Program which she completed from the program in 2000, earning a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. In the past 20 years, Brugel's work has been seen on the small and big screen. Her work gained most recognition when she landed her part as Rita in the acclaimed television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the sole Canadian of the season 1 cast of the show as well as appearing only on occasion, was the only Canadian.
