Ashanti Douglas, popularly called Ashanti was is born in Glen Cove New York United States on 13th October 1980. She is an American singer and songwriter. Ashanti began her professional career as a teenager, then was eventually signed to Murder Inc. Records by 2002. In the same year, she was in Fat Joe's What's Luv? Both Fat Joe's What's Luv? It was the first time for a female artist to hold the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at the top spot and Luv? at number two. Luv? It was the first female artist to have both of the Top two spots on the American Billboard Hot 100 With Foolish as number one and What's Love? Ashanti's first self-titled album was released by Irv's Murder Inc. in 2002 was Ashanti. The Declaration is Ashanti's forth studio album. The album was released on Murder Inc. on June 3, 2008. The 16th of October Hey Baby (After the Club) was made available to the radio and online outlets. She has acted in the movies Christmas in the City as and Army Wives.
